The School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University has once again performed with distinction in university rankings, taking top spot in the “Hospitality and Tourism Management” category of ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2018. Congratulations to Dean Kaye Chon and his team!

AH Editing has been working closely with the SHTM for well over 10 years. Chief Editor Mike Poole said, “We are very proud to have been working with the SHTM for so many years, in writing the Horizons magazine as well as editing dozens of journal papers ready for publication every year. We look forward to many more achievements supporting this world-leading School in the years to come.”

The Academic Ranking of World Universities uses six objective indicators to rank world universities, including the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, number of highly cited researchers selected by Clarivate Analytics, number of articles published in journals of Nature and Science, number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index – Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index, and per capita performance of a university. More than 1200 universities are ranked by ARWU every year and the best 500 are published.
